Lucky 13

Without planning on doing it, I ran my first half-marathon today.

That's 13.1 miles. Thirteen very. long. miles.

My previous best was 10 miles (several times) and I was determined to outdo that today. Once I got to 11, I realized I couldn't really feel anything below my waist anyway, so why not just try for the 13.

I actually feel pretty good right now. I'm sure tomorrow will bring a different story, like hip replacement surgery.

Oh yeah, it took me 1 hour and 58 minutes.

Dude, feel free to run outside every once in a while! Good job though. I guarantee I couldn't run a half marathon ... even on a treadmill. Keep up the good work.

Travis, If you can run 13, you can do the whole marathon! Ready to join Team In Training? We've got some marathons, triathlons, and 100 mile bike rides coming up!

Way to go Travis. I bet if check around town you'll find a running group to train with or at least learn about training for a marathon. Start with the YMCA.

Good job! I'm surprised you didn't burn out the treadmill, though. :O)
