How Do You Spell Dirty? D-E-T-R-O-I-T

When one travels for the NCAA Tournament during the spring, one hopes for a spring-like setting.

I got Detroit.

In the foreground of the above photo, you'll see Windsor, Canada. In the background? Yup. Detroit.

Not only does it feel a bit unclean, but it snowed all day yesterday so now it's dirty... and cold. Don't let this view from the 34th floor of the Marriott fool you.

None of my pics do it justice. Sadly, I was not carrying a camera to get a shot of the homeless guy I had to step over who was sleeping in the middle of the sidewalk last night.

Aside from the setting, the tournament site itself is setting up to be pretty cool. Ford Field is the home of the Detroit Lions (perennial losers) and will host KU vs. Villanova tonight. 72,000 for college basketball? You can't even see the players from this seat, the highest in the building.

I'm dreaming of San Antonio next week. I'm sure the Jayhawks will let me down.
